Labour Councillor, Deidre Foley, has resigned from Bassetlaw District Council with her reason for doing so currently unknown. On March 22nd, a by-election will take place for the voters of Worksop South East to elect Deidre Foley's replacement on Bassetlaw District Council.

Bassetlaw Conservatives will be fielding a candidate in this by-election in an attempt to turn the seat blue, an announcement on the selection will be coming early next week. Labour have taken advantage of the people of Worksop for too long. They rarely deliver on campaign promises and often field candidates with no ties to the ward. Bassetlaw Conservatives will be fighting this election tooth and nail to get a committed and hard-working Conservative councillor elected to this seat who has roots in Worksop South East, and an idea of what the area actually needs.
