On a recent visit the Home Secretary the Rt. Hon. Priti Patel MP took a tour around Worksop Town Centre with local MP Brendan Clarke-Smith and Worksop North County Councillor Callum Bailey, The visit was to see the new CCTV Refuge Points installed in Worksop, following the £550k investment from the Safer Streets Fund.
Speaking after the visit the Home Secretary said "Yesterday I visited Nottinghamshire Police in Worksop to see how our Safer Streets funding from the Home Office is making visible improvements in the town, including new CCTV Refuge Points, so that local people – particularly women and girls – can feel safer out in their neighbourhood.
This is what the Safer Streets Fund is all about – the safety and security of areas blighted by crime and helping prevent potential perpetrators committing such crimes in the first place so our communities are able to flourish."
